Veterinary Entomology

Pennsylvania State University

A Master’s Assistantship is available in the Veterinary Entomology Laboratory of Dr. Erika Machtinger at Pennsylvania State University in State College, PA.

The successful applicant will focus on applied research involving biopesticide development using Beauveria bassiana for house flies on poultry facilities, and will investigate use in IPM programs. The student will also be involved in Extension programming.

A strong interest or previous training in veterinary entomology, vector management, vector-host interactions is desired. A valid driver’s license, and ability to work long, and sometimes irregular hours is required. Previous undergraduate research experience a plus.
