November 2017

The VEL is back from ESA in Denver, CO. After seeing some great talks (and congrats to all the students!) it is time to get to business and start planning for the spring and summer projects.

Some exciting news was also passed on to us that The VEL was recently awarded a NIFA-sponsored project working with microbial control of filth flies in poultry facilities. I am currently looking for a Master's student to participate in the project. Please see the opportunities page for more information.

Finally, our manuscript "Evaluation of four commercial natural products for repellency and toxicity against the lone star tick, Amblyomma americanum (Acari: Ixodidae)" was accepted in Applied and Experimental Acarology.
